What's apple pie got to do with the current crumbling of our economic systems as we know it along with education and churches?
Plenty. How about we start using all those kitchens available to us through our churches?!
Have after school programs that actually reach out to others! Kids get to learn how to bake and cook (using math, social skills, life skills) and folks get to come to a place to have a real meal, not a frozen meal that has been reconstituted. Why not? I could see this easily integrated into every small town in America!

Anyone need a checklist and plan to execute something like this? I'd be happy to give it to whomever wants it...for free! With a structure that includes funding from various community sources only, money will not become an issue because there are no lengthy applications to fill out as well as waiting for the check, just a whole bunch of good feelings of people donating either time or money to something as worthy as giving our children life skills they'll be able to put to use and feeding those that need it.
As American as Apple Pie. :-)
